Customer success story
Formula 1 Inventory Lifecycle Management
A single view of every part from factory to race weekend
An unnamed Formula 1 team needed a dependable way to track each part as it was created, prepared, shipped, fitted, returned and serviced. Roboyo helped the team bring data from four enterprise systems into one inventory application, so the departments involved see the same status and owner for each part.

The challenge
A racing team must get the right components to the track on time and know exactly what is fitted to each car. The same information feeds cost cap reporting, configuration control and other regulatory requirements. Making parts, moving them to the track, using, returning and servicing them involved several departments working in spreadsheets and local applications.
With no shared, current inventory record, people reconciled information across systems or checked with the workshop directly. Work orders, build specifications and decisions on damaged parts could fall out of step, and a part needed for the next event might not be available.
The solution
One central low-code application now covers each part from creation to servicing. It draws data from the team’s ERP, manufacturing execution and product lifecycle management systems, and from its component lifing system, which tracks how long each component may stay in service. Each part has one record showing its specification, condition, location and next action.
Each role has its own workflow. Operations planners create and reprioritize work orders, spare-parts coordinators manage shipments and returns, and design quality engineers generate regulatory information from the build specifications held in the application. Part creation, shipping to the track, trackside management and returns are handled in the same view.
The result
Inventory decisions now rest on one record fed by four enterprise systems, with zero car parts missed on race weekend. Because each action has a clear owner, the team relies less on the spreadsheets and workarounds that used to hide a part’s status.
